🏉Cathedral Catholic defeats Los Alamitos in a close one.💪
⏱️A brief recap of Cathedral Catholic's victory over Los Alamitos.

⏱️Quick Recap Time: We can’t always do a full-length writeup, but this game was brought to our attention and deserves some words.
Cathedral Catholic 19 — 12 Los Alamitos
This was a battle of size vs. structure—Los Alamitos leaned on their powerful ball carriers, while Cathedral Catholic looked to move the ball quickly and control the tempo. In the end, Cathedral’s defensive stand in the final minutes made the difference.
The first half was a back-and-forth contest, with both teams trading territory and defensive stops. CC struck first after a well-worked attacking sequence created space out wide for the opening try, but LA responded with a hard-earned score from their forward pack. The teams went into halftime locked at 7-7.
The second half saw CC capitalize when Spencer Huntley chased down his own kick and scooped up the ball to score, giving CC the edge. LA applied relentless pressure late, pounding the line with multiple phases inside CC’s five-meter, but CC’s defense refused to break, holding up two attempts in the try zone.
A late try from CC’s forwards stretched the lead to 19-12, and while LA powered in for a final score, they ran into a brick wall as time expired—Cathedral held strong and sealed the game on defense.
Final Score: Cathedral Catholic 19 — 12 Los Alamitos
Some baffling whistle-work by the referee made this a stop-and-start affair.
Los Alamitos has some enormous, brutal runners. They can wear you down, and they almost did in this game.
Cathedral needed a colossal effort from their key players—Spencer Huntley and Dylan Trower answered the call, and Cathedral’s forward pack—as a whole—deserves a steak dinner.
