📊Fan Powered Rankings: 2025 Preseason RESULTS

Honorable mentions:

Rye Rugby (NY) had a flurry of last minute votes, but barely fell short of the top ten.

 Danville Oaks and Berks County Rugby both had solid support in the Club nominations, tying for 2nd place.

The fan rankings were a blast! We’ll definitely need to do this again at the end of the season.

Here are our takeaways and notes:

• Gonzaga and the Charlotte Cardinals won their respective divisions at Nationals this year, so it’s not surprising to see that the public consensus is they belong at the top.

• St. Ignatius was hovering near the bottom of the top 10 right until the last 3 days of voting — better late than never, Ignatius fans!

• The order after the top 3 was very different submission to submission. Meaning: Most people were aligned placing the top 3, after that it was a smorgasbord of opinions.

• Note: We had to randomize the order on the submission form a couple days after going live. (We realized that many submissions were only placing the top 1-2 teams and leaving the rest, skewing the rankings. Don’t worry we fixed it.)

• We discovered several brand new teams as a result of this — how cool!

• Next time, we will combine Club and Single school — this was the most common request in the feedback.

• We had over a thousand participants! High school rugby is alive and well!

Remember, this was all for fun! Didn’t see your team in the top ten this time? No worries—we’ll be running another round of FAN-POWERED rankings at the end of the season. So start spreading the word and make sure your team gets the love it deserves!
