📺 Must Watch
🎬 Brothers on Three — coming November 7th.
A new documentary that every rugby fan should have on their radar.
Description: “An unprecedented look inside one of the most unique cultures in college sports — the West Point Rugby program.
Filmed primarily over the 2023 season — just one year after their national championship — the film blends vérité footage, intimate interviews, and rare archival clips to immerse audiences in two worlds few Americans truly understand: rugby and West Point.”
🎥Here’s the site where you can watch the trailer. It looks awesome fyi.
🏉 High School Sevens
🏆 St. Ignatius (OH) — Four. Straight. Titles.
The Wildcats ran the table again, claiming their fourth consecutive Ohio Sevens Championship. Check this out: They haven’t lost a single sevens match in four years — 70-0 is their record over that span. Take a bow, lads.
🏆 Herriman (UT) — Back on top.
Herriman took down LCA 24–12 in the Utah Sevens State Final to capture their 7th overall 7s title, and first since their run of six straight ended in 2019. They did it without a single football crossover and down four starters. Hats off to head coach Jaeron Masina and assistants Mariano Delgado and Sami Khaled — all proud Herriman alums.
🏆 Christian Brothers Academy (NJ) — Still perfect.
CBA stormed through the season 20–0 to defend their New Jersey Sevens crown. We’ve noticed several familiar names on their roster from the spring 15s season. That bodes well for Spring 2026—could be a dangerous CBA team, folks.

Teams to watch include La Salle (current leader at 22–4), Downingtown (19–7), and Berks, last year’s champs known for their physical, fast play.
👀High School Fifteens already???
The award for Earliest 15s Game of the Season goes to…
Okapi (FL) and Key Biscayne (FL)
These two sides faced off in a friendly match last weekend—with Okapi taking a 33-14 victory. Here’s the highlight reel if you wanna see the cool stuff!

💥 Why “Rugby Riot”?
People ask me this from time to time: Why “Riot”?
Well, when I was a kid, one of my aunts—a wild woman—used to describe anything fun, chaotic, or unexpected as a “riot.”
It might go something like this:
*Sees a backyard water-balloon fight
“Haha! What a RIOT!”
Or maybe:
“We went to the Christmas party dressed as reindeer and ended up sledding down the front hill on cookie sheets—it was a RIOT!”
So, for me, the word has always meant fun chaos—the kind that makes you laugh and shake your head at the same time.
Fast forward to the birth of this publication: I was searching for a name that captured the spirit of rugby without sounding too cute.
“Rugby Corner”? No thanks.
“The Breakdown”? Not my vibe.
“The Grubber”? I’ll admit—I considered it.
But “Riot” stuck.
It had a perfect blend of energy, mirth, and a little danger.
So when you see Rugby Riot, don’t picture hooligans flipping cars.
Picture something wild, fun, maybe a little reckless.
Because, you know, rugby is a RIOT!

📣Shout out to Spencer Huntley for:
1. Being called up to Hartpury’s top squad.
2. Scoring his first try with the #1s!
As a freshman!
We get excited about US players kicking ass overseas, and you should too.
Here’s the clip of Huntley’s try 👇

“There’s nothing like an early score in knockout footy to get your feathers up.”
💥International Showdown at Soldier Field 🏉
Ireland and New Zealand will clash in Chicago November 1st — that’s tomorrow!
Dubbed the Gallagher Cup, this is a rematch of their 2016 bash in Chicago, where Ireland famously defeated the All Blacks 40-29.
Nine years later—same teams—same stadium. Should be a cracker.
📍 Soldier Field, Chicago
⌚️ 4:00 ET kickoff
📺 Peacock has ya covered.

We’re doing a poll this week👇
Ireland vs New Zealand at Soldier Field tomorrow. Who wins?

Oddball musings, induced by borderline hypothermia.
🏉 As promised…
People spotted wearing rugby shorts in the airport: 1.
Actually, they may have been boxers — did not confirm.
🏉 I just learned that Chris Farley played rugby in college.
That settles it. Rugby’s the best sport. I can stop typing now.
That’s a wrap, gang!
Next week we’ll have more dope rugby stuff to share with you; scores, highlights, stories… all the goods.
If you like this, share it with your friends!
Be well, ruck with gusto, and may your compression shorts always stay in place.
